About me
Hi! my name is Ace and I'm a cosmic entity beyond mortal comprehension!
I reside in the pacific northwest and music is my one constant passion in all the universes. Amusing fact! did you know that "the world's earliest melody" is considered a 40,000 year old Sumerian tablet named the Hurrian hymn number 6? [1] That's as old as me! I enjoy many things besides music like languages, psychology and medicine! I love guitar and have been playing it for 4 years and it's been a part of my musical passion since!
My Wikipedia interests
I love looking through the anatomy of the human body. From the complexity of the heart to the billions of neurons on the brain, I love every single facet of the body and its mechanisms. I'm fascinated by languages and their every nuance. From Japanese to Russian, the hundreds of unique ways of communication is simply amazing! Along with my numerous interests, one of my favorites is psychology and its boundless uses large and minimal, even within our daily routine! These things I might want to research and add to as a volunteer/editor here at Wikipedia, though I give no guarantee that I'll be active.
Article Evaluation
As someone who has been interested in the medical field and intends to enter it, I naturally have been drawn to the recent discoveries of Ketamine and its effects in psychotherapy. psychotherapy, (also known as talk therapy, talking therapy, or psychological therapy,) is the practice of using psychological techniques in regular personal interaction to help improve mood, wellbeing and mental health. Ketamine is a general anesthetic and has been recently approved for treatment for mental health disorders, the most common being Depression. I have personally been put on this new treatment and ever since have been very interested in the use of this treatment and its developments. I visited the Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy article on Wikipedia and looked for policy violations, ways to develop the article, and other issues.
Policy Violations
This article is written with a neutral point of view with an avoidance to use subjective language, personal views, or agenda, providing the reader with data and scientific speculation based on research which is usually cited and linked accordingly. This article, however, has two missing citations that have not yet been resolved as of 1/14/26 within sections "side effects" and "Treatment-resistant depression". This article shows no original research and has many external links, speaking to its verifiability and the breadth of its sources and research. Furthermore, this article also keeps everything relevant to the topic matter, containing no unnecessary conjecture that takes away from the article's effectiveness.
Development
This article is very well developed with detailed and thorough descriptions of the observed effects, studies, and documented uses of Ketamine in conjunction with psychotherapy with minimal information still desired. The "Side effects" section is noticeably shorter than the rest of the sections, with the symptoms listed being having no further explanation on the mechanism of its effects which might be wanted from the reader. This article, however, does give many resources for the reader to visit in relation to the subject matter as they appear, giving the reader the ability to easily research things like "ketamine" as the drug outside of the use in psychotherapy. The largest development of this article (done by a Wiki Education Foundation-supported course assignment) contributed large sections including "rationale of interest", "background" as well as many important updates to sources and their relevance in March of 2025.
Other issues
I enjoy that this article gives many visual representations including pictures of a patient in a psychotherapy session, the Spravato nasal spray, and even the chemical formula of ketamine as an NMDA receptor antagonist. I like that this article is very well separated with each group being both well written and relevant to the topic in its section. The references are well organized and contain sources as recent as 2025 with many of these references being viable and respected sources. I also enjoy that this article gives links to main articles for further reading as well as a "see also" section with a link to a "List of investigational hallucinogens and entactogens" which allow the reader a way to read further into related articles to help the reader with their own research.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I believe this article is very well written with very minor issues that I find fairly inconsequential. Between the articles very consistent and accurate citations and content, the very helpful visual representations, and finally the very well-structured manner of the article; I believe this article is a great example of a all-around well-structured, concise, and well written article, especially in the field of medicine where error has more weight to it. All this said, I do believe the article would benefit from a citation under both sections "Treatment-resistant depression" where the subject of the efficacy of Ketamine in contrast to other medications on depression as well as under the section "side effects" where the article states "Further research is needed to assess the long-term side effects of ketamine therapy in multiple modalities". There is citation needed in this statement. All in all, I believe that anyone interested in the research of Ketamine in psychotherapy will find this article helpful and informative as well as a great place to find sources for further research.
