Throwball International

Throw Ball is the latest extreme sport sweeping the nation, taking the world by storm and whatever other sporting cliche you can think of. It was invented out of inebriation and boredom one AFL Grand Final day and taken to the masses who clambered to catch a glimpse of the athletic prowess of its founders. Here's what some reporters had to say:

``International Throw Ball is the ultimate test between man, ball and spacial awareness. It's like handball on speed.'' - New York Times Sport.

``Why no one has thought of throwing a tiny ball at each other and diving around like electrocuted fish before is one of the brilliant suprises in this highly addictive game.'' - Danish Sports Review.

``Throw Ball is more than just throwing and catching a ball. It's about the melding of man (or woman) and ball.'' - The Launceston Examiner

``Watching players the calibre of Captain Flu, Fumbles, Pointer and Sista Harris is breathtaking. It's like watching Mozart compose Moonlight Sonata or being near God when He created the universe.'' - Thor.

The rules of International Throw Ball are simple. Two teams of equal numbers and dexterity oppose each other over a square field. Players then throw a tiny, brightly coloured ball at their opposition. The throw must have parabola, so no chucking Sleeper. The ball must be caught in the player's nominated catching hand. If it is dropped then that player must sit out. The team with players still on the court when the other team is eliminated wins.
