My name is Martin Tichenor. I am ninth generation Tichenor in America. I am descended from Martin Tichenor who took the oath of allegiance in 1644 at the New Haven Colony in what is now Connecticut. I am distantly related to Issac Tichenor, the third and fifth governor of Vermont and more directly related to Isaac Tichenor, the president of Auburn University from 1872-1881. I have been a contributor to Wikipedia since 2005 and made some very small contributions to Wikipedia. The contributions I have made were accurate and dynamic, as with Wiki, they were a work in progress. Some of my contributions were deleted under the infallible wisdom of Wikipedia editors. These were simple articles related to the history of the Tichenor families in America. I would not presume to have the expertise or intellectual wherewithal to attempt an edit of another contributors work. To paraphrase an old adage "those who can, do; those who can't, edit". I suspect that I have wasted the last ten minutes as no one will ever read this. I suppose that I simply wanted there to be something when I clicked on my name at the top of the page.
