Net force is the total force applied on an object. Forces are vectors, they have both a magnitude and a direction. The SI unit of force is called the newton (abbreviated N), and 1 N is the force needed to accelerate an object with a mass of 1 kg at a rate of : 1 N = ${\displaystyle {1kg*m/s^{2}}}$

Thus,

Net force is the combined effect of all individual forces acting on an object, taking into account both their magnitudes and directions. When multiple forces are applied to an object, they can either reinforce each other or act in opposite directions. In mathematical terms, net force is a vector sum, with each force contributing to the overall result.

We can also describe a three-dimensional force as,

The unit vectors Aˆ and Bˆ represent the magnitude of the forces in the vector notation, ${\displaystyle {\vec {F}}_{A}={<}{A_{x}}+{A_{y}}+{A_{z}}{>}}$ and, ${\displaystyle {\vec {F}}_{B}={<}{B_{x}}+{B_{y}}+{B_{z}}{>}}$ therefore, we get the the net force being the sum of the forces along each axis.
