Chuck Walbourn has been working on games for the Windows platform since the early days of DirectX and Windows 95.
He began in the game industry by starting his own development house during the mid-90s in Austin, shipped several Windows titles for Interactive Magic and Electronic Arts, and developed the content tools pipeline for the Microsoft Game Studios Xbox (original) title Voodoo Vince.
He recently marked his fifteenth year at Microsoft where he supports and educates game developers working on the Windows and Xbox platforms through his blog, samples, presentations, and numerous GitHub projects including the DirectX Tool Kit, DirectXTex, DirectXMesh, and DirectXMath. Chuck holds a Bachelors and Masters of Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
His professional blog is hosted on GitHub Pages and includes all the content from his now retired MSDN Developer Blog.
