Garfield Redden (also known as Garf Redden) is an American rock drummer. He is the drummer for the band Saving Abel and has performed with One Day Alive and Tommy Tutone.

Career

One Day Alive

Redden is the drummer for the Cincinnati-based rock band One Day Alive.[1] In a 2022 feature, Go Venue Magazine identified Redden as the band’s drummer and discussed the group’s touring activity and musical direction during his tenure.[2]

Redden was later profiled in an independent interview that outlined his background, approach to drumming, and role within the band.[3]

Saving Abel

By 2025, Redden became the touring drummer for Saving Abel.[4] Independent concert reviews and venue listings from the band’s 2025 tour identify Redden as the drummer in the touring lineup.

A review published by 1013 Music Reviews covering Saving Abel’s performance at the Pablo Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, named Redden as the band’s drummer and noted his participation alongside the group’s longtime members.[5]

History

Early Years (2011-2016)

Tony (with the help of then manager Ashley Johns) formed the band One Day Alive. Nick lead with vocals, Tony on guitar, Jeremy was on bass and Jake on drums. The band successful recorded an EP called "Everyday Is Bizarre", in 2014. The single "No Turning Back" got reginal airplay on the radio and later a music video[1]. They successfully toured and opened for bands like 10 years, Bobaflex, Saliva, Fuel, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Taproot, Days of the New, and Hinder [2] They disbanded in 2016 due to Rossumano focusing on graduate school at University of Cincinnati.[3]

Current lineup (2020-present)

Garfeld "Garf Redden grew up in San Diego, California. His father, a lead singer played alongside Jake E Lee (Ozzy Osborne) in Teaser (which became the house band at the club Straita Head Sound) Garf, at the age of 10 was exposed to the Metal Glam Metal scene as he became the drum tech for them.[4] In years time Garf transplanted to Ohio. He was playing in cover bands and later even filed-in with Tommy Tutone in 2008-2010.[5]

As a teenager Randy's first exposure to Garf was when he was in Texbabies, as a fan. It wasn't too long after seeing Garf play, that Randy's own band, Fractured Mirror opened up for them.[6]

After a previous incarnation of One Day Alive (2010-2016) founder Tony Rossumano set out to assembled a new lineup in 2020.

Tony met Randy through a mutual friend and after writing a couple songs, the band grew. Scott joined shorty after. As the band was recording some tracks, Randy reached out to his teenage friend Garf to lay down some drum tracks. After that Garf was on board with the band. In 2022 Casey joined the band as a second lead guitarist.[7]
