Wikiguy2015, first started on Wikipedia.org on January 10, 2015.

I'm here to go over topics I know, and do my best to fix broken links using archive.org or finding the new page. Oftentimes, when a URL is changed, let's say from wikipedia.org/food/peanuts to a page like wikipedia.org/peanuts the sites linking to the original page are not updated, thus, creating a dead link or broken link. This is quite common, so I try and find the new page first, if I can't find it, I'll either go to archive.org, or just find someone who had copied the original article onto their site. Probably 95% of the time, the dead link can be fixed by going to archive.org first, so I highly recommend it as the first avenue to repairing broken links. 12/5/2015 - Wikiguy2015

I'm still finding tons of dead links, but they are not identified by Wikipedia as dead links. These links go nowhere, sometimes, websites are dropped and picked up by someone else, so in that case, there are links going to new sites with different content. It doesn't hurt to open a random Wikipedia page and open all of the external links, you will probably be surprised at how many dead links you find.

Hey all, I've found many links that went to non existent pages which I have fixed, not sure if there is an award for this, I'm like the archive.org guy here on Wikipedia. I'd appreciate any recognition you guys feel I deserve, thanks.
