JVNO (pronounced "Juno") is a UK/Monaco-based jazz-funk band formed in early 2022. The group’s music blends elements of jazz, funk, soul, and R&B, and has been compared to acts such as Jamiroquai, Incognito, and Tom Misch.[1][2] The band’s debut album, Nothing Strange, was released in March 2025.[1]

History

JVNO was formed by musicians including vocalist and drummer Will Moore, bassist Tom Watson, guitarist Sam Tye, and keyboardist James Tye. The members met while studying in the UK before establishing a base between London and Monaco.[3]

The band gained early attention through live performances in Monaco, notably at La Note Bleue, a jazz club where they performed material from Nothing Strange.[2]

Musical style and influences

JVNO’s sound draws on jazz-funk, R&B, and neo-soul, with an emphasis on groove-based arrangements and improvisation. Critics have noted the band’s mix of traditional funk rhythms with modern soul influences.[1]
