Winter Drops

"Winter drops" is the name of a segment (team) of my project, but I go by Cyan. In summary, I am beginning a project called the WikiCast. Now, as a point of clarification and defense of my originality and aspiring creativity, I did consider the phrase "PediaCast", but it turns out that this terminology is already in use by pediatricians in their specific brand of PodCast. If you want to call it a PediaCast, fine by me. But when the pediatrician says "No soup for you!", don't come whining to me. I covered my bases.

The idea of the WikiCast came from a habit that I developed at work. You see, I would look up an interesting article on Wikipedia, have a text to speech program save it to .wav file, and then listen to it on my computer or mp3 player (post conversion, naturally). However, that automated voice does tend to get old, and I just so happened to be a voice actor in many other communities.

From here, the math adds up. I intend to start a conglomeration of audio files that read Wikipedia articles aloud so that people can work and learn at the same time.

My first contributions will start in the realms of astronomy. It is yet to be determined how and when these editions will be released and in what order they come, but something will likely be established sooner or later.

If you would like to become part of the Winter drops Wiki Cast team, please contact me. You can do so by adding an article to this page or somehow digging up my contact information. This would make you seem cool to me.

If you would like to make a request for a new area of study (ie astronomy is the current area of study), you may also add an article to this page.
