Talk to me :-)
response to User talk:dramatic
Hi Bactoid, re your comments on my talk page: No, I never target the work of any particular users, in fact I was concious of your username having cropped up at all. But I do perform page patrol on all articles found by User:AlexNewArtBot/NZSearchResult - weeding out the false positives and transferring the others to Wikipedia:New articles (New Zealand). Along the way I do quite a lot of wikifying, tagging of unreferenced articles, AFD nominations and Speedy deletion nominations. If that matches your editing pattern, then our paths will overlap.
Had I found Brendon Burns first, I woud have put it straight to WP:Afd, since prod is often a waste of time (they are usually contested, from my experience). WP:BLP is quite clear that unelected candidates for political office are not notable, unless there is a good basis for them to have an article prior to their candidacy. Already four pages on candidates for this year's election have been to AFD and been deleted (I nominated two). Although Deletion debates are supposed to ignore the results of other deletion debates, I believe that it is important to be consistent with respect to the election. For the same reason (and to balance the fact that all incumbents do/should have articles), I recreated all the deleted articles as redirects to the list of candidates. As a result, someone searching for the candidate will find a result and a reference. In effect, I short-circuited the process by about a week. Mea culpa for not giving a couple of days notice on the talk page, but it's not personal - and not political either (I'm a labour/green supporter). dramatic (talk) 19:36, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

My mistake. I was under the impression that high schools had to be notable in any particular way, but having read Wikipedia:Notability (high schools), it turns out they don't. Feel free to remove the tag and to quote the policy at anyone who reinstates it. --Helenalex (talk) 01:58, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
