It doesn't make much sense to call any Brazilian city both "a town and a municipality". The way it was written, it seemed like "town" and "municipality" were two different things, or that it is possible to be a "town" or a "municipality" in Brazil. However, Brazil is officially divided in states and municipalities, so that's why I've been changing thousands of articles that were wrongly created following this formula:

"Name of the city is a town and municipality in the state of...".

The correct definition of any Brazilian city is "municipality". We have no "towns", the closest word for that would be "city", which is a generic and frequently informal term for any city in the world. Victão Lopes ^Fala! 02:06, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Denisarona: The island of Ireland has nothing to do with the case, and the republic even less so. I assume you must be confusing the term British Islands with British Isles; a different thing altogether. United Kingdom is incorrect in this case since the sterling zone includes (as shown on the map) the Channel Islands and Mann; neither of which are part of the UK. I suppose it might not be a bad idea to spell it out as "the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Mann" or similar, but that is a bit wordy. You undid my revision suggesting the Home Nations of the UK each have their own national day, why? St. Andrew's Day, St. George's Day, St. David's Day & St. Patrick's Day (with the possible addition of the anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne for certain communities in NI) are national days - in the traditional sense - of Scotland, England, Wales and (all-)Ireland respectively.
