Managing a conflict of interest
Hello, CentsTech. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Intel RealSense, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. cyberdog958Talk 05:14, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Cyberdog958:
- Thank you for your reply. I’m not sure you completely understand the situation. RealSense, which was a division of Intel spun out from Intel on July 11, 2025.
- Intel RealSense is no longer a division of Intel and this page is not correct anymore. I shared the link to the news reference in my email to you. I can share 300+ more news articles about the spin out if needed. With the spin out, the page was updated to the new correct company name.
- Here's just a few of the publications reporting the spin out.

- https://finance.yahoo.com/news/realsense-spins-intel-scale-stereoscopic-100000085.html
- Do I need to create an entire new page and ask that the other be removed?
- Thanks for your help.

Please help me with... Hello: I am trying to update the Intel RealSense page/article given the RealSense spun out from Intel on July 11,2025. I work for the new company, RealSense and formerly worked for Intel RealSense. I am not a paid contributor, rather an employee of RealSense. How not to be considered a paid contributor. The template provided to me was for a paid contributor.
Here are several publications about the spin out to verify.
https://www.reuters.com/business/realsense-spins-out-intel-secures-50-million-drive-ai-vision-robotics-2025-07-11/ https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/artificial-intelligence/realsense-spins-out-from-intel-secures-50-million-to-drive-ai-vision-in-robotics/articleshow/122386353.cms https://techcrunch.com/2025/07/11/realsense-spins-out-of-intel-to-scale-its-stereoscopic-imaging-technology/ https://www.axios.com/newsletters/axios-pro-rata https://www.reuters.com/business/realsense-spins-out-intel-secures-50-million-drive-ai-vision-robotics-2025-07-11/ https://finance.yahoo.com/news/realsense-spins-intel-scale-stereoscopic-100000085.html
Please advise: how to change the name of the page to RealSense. Do I need to create an entire new page and ask that the other be removed? If yes, how do I do that? The instructions show a More in the drop down on the right side -- not accessible for me. Is that a permissions link that needs to be activated for me?
Thank you, I appreciate any help you can lend my way.

- The very fact of you being an employee there means that Wikipedia deems you a PAID contributor. Once you've declared your conflict of interest on your user page, you are free to create a draft about the spin-off company. If you think changes are needed to the Intel RealSense page, you can request them on its talk page (I see you already have something there) using the Edit Request Wizard or {{Edit COI}} template. Since the publications you've mentioned are simply talking about the spinoff, it's possible that you won't have sources to meet the notability criteria that apply to companies at this time, but you may have sources that would at least support adding information about the spinoff to the existing Intel RealSense page. (And that page's sources are somewhat marginal in that many of them would be considered primary.) — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 17:38, 13 August 2025 (UTC)

- Hello: Can you release my previous page so that I can make additional edits to it per guidelines and also instruct me how to update the title from Intel RealSense to RealSense given the spin-out and the Intel RealSense compnay no longer exists? Thank you. CentsTech (talk) 19:35, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
- I don't see that you've created your user page yet, which is where we would expect to see the disclosure. Putting on the Talk:Intel RealSense page is definitely not the right place. And you don't have to use the template. You can write a disclosure in your own words.
- If you go through the edit history of Intel RealSense you should be able to find any edits you had made to it that were later reverted.
- It is not necessarily going to happen that the Intel RealSense page will be moved to your preferred new name. It may end up that it will remain to describe the historical period when that was the active entity and a new page will cover the existence after the spinout. That will largely depend on what sources you are able to bring to the table and what those sources say. We have many pages for dead people and dead companies; there is some precedent for articles following the name changes undergone by their subjects, but that's not always what happens. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 01:35, 14 August 2025 (UTC)

Disclosure added
Hi: Sorry, this is so confusing. I made edits to the Intel RealSense page, adding in the new RealSense logo, content, citations and references. Then it was pulled. So hope to find it in the history, as I published it and then it was pulled.
Sounds like the best option is to start a new page. And add the spin out content on the Intel RealSense page.
Thanks,
