Re: Pzychobitch
Re your message: The article was deleted back in 2006 because the article had very little content and did not establish why the band is notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. The article only contained a list of the band members and links to their official website and their MySpace page, which is not enough. For an article about the band to remain on Wikipedia, there needs to be more about the band such as their discography and what makes them notable. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:02, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
List of video game console emulators
Hello. Your recent edit to List of video game console emulators appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Thanks for reaching out and clarifying on the removal. clearly some of the emulators need a dedicate wikipedia page in my opinion. thus requiring some research to find reliable sources on them. My best guess is that (a few) other wiki sites dont qualify unless their sources are worthy for Wikipedia itself? https://xboxdevwiki.net/Emulators is what im thinking of. --CodeAsm (talk) 15:36, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
- Correct, most wikis consist of user-generated content and wouldn't be considered reliable (either as a source or an indication of notability). That's also true of most personal websites, internet forums, social media, etc. I'd give WP:RELIABILITY a read, it goes into what we do and do not consider reliable in general and in specific contexts. Hello! and Note on Minor Edits
Hi there CodeAsm! It's been great to see your edits in the Video Game category over the years. I appreciate it!
I do want to make a quick note about "minor edits". Wikipedia does have the checkbox for minor edits to mark edits as minor, but that should be reserved only for things like fixing misspellings and other typographical errors, minor formatting errors, rearrangement of text, that do not change the content or meaning of the article in any way.
Some of your previous edits are marked as minor and don't fit into this definition. Even changing one word that adds or modifies content to an article (like adding to the list of video game emulators) is a major edit. Not to worry, no need to go back and change any of your previous minor edits, but please keep this in mind for future edits and only click minor for things that I mentioned above. If anything isn't clear about this, please see the Wikipedia page on minor edits or feel free to ask for clarification!
Thanks much!
