Thank you - yes, I see that my initials are a program ;) - #3 this year. - That one was especially difficult, first all the referencing trouble when he died last year, and now all the rephrasing trouble when the GA reviewer noticed that the original prose was mostly taken word by word - long before I ever looked at his article - from some blog. Great collaboration, as I love it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:01, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you today for Castell Coch, introduced (in 2015) as "a quaint Gothic Revival castle to the north of Cardiff in south Wales, which was built by William Burges for John Crichton-Stuart, 3rd Marquess of Bute in the 1870s. A castle had existed on the site in medieval times but later fell into ruin. The interior design of the castle has been cited as one of the shining examples of the High Victorian Gothic, though Bute rarely used the place as a residence. For a period a vineyard was cultivated at the castle, unusual in Britain. Today it is run by the Welsh heritage agency Cadw."! - As it happened, my story is also about a building, because its architect would have been 105 today. (When the DYK appeared, he was still alive.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:34, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have more vacation pics to offer, and today's story of Werner Bardenhewer. I took the pic, and it was my DYK on his 90th birthday, in both English and German. He spent the day in Africa, and after his return said - chatting after a mass of thanks he celebrated at Mariä Heimsuchung - that we'd have to talk about these articles. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:07, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! I took a photo at the mass - his last - and it was deleted because there's art on the walls. It's oround the corner from where he lived. - Today: Schubert on his birthday ;) - could also be Philip Glass, but Scchubert is what I heard (Barenboim conduct at the place, #4-5-6, - they turn the orchestra seats 180° during intermission, so everybody sees the faces at some time)! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:05, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You created this unreferenced stub in 2006, and it's been tagged as unsourced for over 15 years. I did a Google search and found less than a dozen hits, none of which are reliable and some that appear to be AI generated. I wanted to reach out to you before I propose it for deletion. If you can please find and add sources, that would be great. Thank you for doing your part to cut into the 16-year, 69,000-article backlog of unsourced pages. I searched under the Khmer title and it is both a district and commune, here's the Khmer wiki article here. Certainly notable, but I would imagine sourcing is still poor for that neck of the woods. I've redirected to the district given that there doesn't seem to be much detail about it. I'll assume you were just thanking me in advance for it, but I read your message initially as an attack on me being responsible for that big backlog! ♦ Dr. Blofeld13:51, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
