When I first started macro, I too ran into the same problems. Fir0002 advised me to use f/11 aperture since this gives both a good DOF and a sharp picture. You can see some comparisons which he has made here. Usually I use the maual mode, setting the aperture to around f/9-13 and using a shutter speed of 1/60 - 1/200 depending upon the insect. You could also try focus stacking which involves taking several shots with different areas in focus and then finally merging all the areas to get a picture with a large DOF. Most of my pictures are taken handheld; some times I try using walls or rocks for support and to reduce the blur. Richard Bartz has taken some amazing pictures using tripod and natural lighting and recently, I have tried to emulate him and I must say the final outcome with a tripod is much better than the pictures taken handheld. If you want to use a tripod however, you'll need to go out early in the morning when its still cool and the insects not very active so that you may be able to use long exposures. You will also need to enable Mirror lock-up to reduce blur caused by the mirror. With a tripod, I mostly shoot aperture priority, setting the aperture to f/16. Usually, I set the ISO to 400 to reduce the shadows caused by the flash and to allow a faster shutter when shooting under natural light. Sometimes if the insect is very cooperative, like dragonflies, setting the ISO to 200 would do the trick. ISO 800 and above produce pretty noisy pictures and much of the details are then lost in noise reduction. I hope I have answered your questions and not scared you away from macro ;). Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. --Muhammad(talk)18:25, 20 February 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-02-20T18:25:00.000Z","author":"Muhammad Mahdi Karim","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Muhammad_Mahdi_Karim-2009-02-20T18:25:00.000Z-Re:Macro_technique","replies":["c-Muhammad_Mahdi_Karim-2009-02-22T04:33:00.000Z-Muhammad_Mahdi_Karim-2009-02-20T18:25:00.000Z"],"displayName":"Muhammad"}}-->
Yeah, I use PS for selective noise reduction, usually a strength 6 with around 20% sharpen and 40-50% preserve details. The moth picture is quite good for your first attempt but noisy due to the high ISO. Keep practicing. --Muhammad(talk)04:33, 22 February 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-02-22T04:33:00.000Z","author":"Muhammad Mahdi Karim","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Muhammad_Mahdi_Karim-2009-02-22T04:33:00.000Z-Muhammad_Mahdi_Karim-2009-02-20T18:25:00.000Z","replies":[],"displayName":"Muhammad"}}-->
I just realized that File:Angkordemon.jpg was improperly licensed. Since it is not a 2D work of art, {{PD-art}} does not apply. I have retagged it as being a non-free 3D work, but now it needs a fair use rationale. Personally, I think that this is replaceable because anyone could go and take a photo of this sculpture so it fails WP:NFCC #1, and will most likely be deleted. I'm contacting you, as the uploader, to give you an opportunity to fix this issue (or make a case that I am mistaken ;). I apologize for this. I would accept your offer of an admin nom. Past times when people offered to nominate me for admin status, I declined, but I am now thoroughly aware that much of the stuff I do is inherently admin-like, but I'm doing it without the proper tools.
On that last subject, I wonder if I could beg your help with "fixing" the article formerly known as Wears Valley, Tennessee. A user who seems not to be familiar with the area has decided that it's not valid to treat Wears Valley as a community (because it's a census county division), and moved it, first to "Wears Valley" and later to "Wear Cove," treating it as a landform. I moved it back once. The most recent time that I tried to move it, the to "Wears Valley, Tennessee," but I failed to re-add the S, so now the article resides at Wear Valley, Tennessee (a misspelling) and can no longer be moved to "Wears Valley, Tennessee" (or even "Wears Valley") except by a sysop. I'd be happy to take it to WP:Requested moves, but any discussion would be complicated by the multiple issues of the misspelling and the controversy. --Orlady (talk) 05:13, 25 February 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-02-25T05:13:00.000Z","author":"Orlady","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Orlady-2009-02-25T05:13:00.000Z-Reply_to_your_message_on_my_talk_page","replies":["c-Orlady-2009-03-03T17:56:00.000Z-Orlady-2009-02-25T05:13:00.000Z"]}}-->

Hey Kaldari,
I upload GFDL 1.2-only because the newer version(1.3) allows the work to be used as CC-BY-SA as well. I do not mind the non-commercial use of my images but I do not want to allow businesses to benefit at my expense and as GFDL is commercially more restrictive, I release my images with that license. I was not aware of the migration (Thanks for the link), however, the page mentions that "We also propose to continue to permit GFDL 1.2-only media uploads for the forseeable future, to address concerns regarding strong and weak copyleft, until such concerns are fully resolved", so I guess its ok for now. --Muhammad(talk)19:31, 27 February 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-02-27T19:31:00.000Z","author":"Muhammad Mahdi Karim","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Muhammad_Mahdi_Karim-2009-02-27T19:31:00.000Z-Re:Question_about_licensing","replies":[],"displayName":"Muhammad"}}-->
Hey Stifle, I moved the {{GFDL-1.3}} template to {{GFDL-1.3-only}} and salted the original name. The reason for this was to prevent the type of widespread confusion that occurred with {{GFDL-1.2}}, where most of the people using the template were intending to actually use the regular GFDL template, but used the wrong name. I also changed the template reference in the 2 images that were using the template. As soon as GFDL 1.2 gets cleaned up some more (JohnnyMrNinja is in the process of individually vetting all the images currently using the template), I'm going to try to do the same thing there. Just thought you should be informed. Cheers. Initially I was not sure what to think of the new table. It's nice to have a visual display of information in the table (in general, visuals add value), and it looks to me like this type of table could be easily created for many articles. However, the heights of most of the bars in this particular graph are very similar, diminishing the visual information value. A taller graph would make it easier to discern the differences.
Also, I notice that there are several cities and towns only slightly smaller than Bristol (including a couple that are by now substantially larger than Bristol). Tennessee has a lot of cities in the 20-30K population range, and that group is split by the arbitrary cutoff at 20 cities. However, any choice of a cutoff would have similar effects, so the top 20 is as good a choice as any.
Bottom line: I think the graph is a nice addition, but I suggest tweaking it to "stretch" the vertical scale. --Orlady (talk) 03:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-03-11T03:04:00.000Z","author":"Orlady","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Orlady-2009-03-11T03:04:00.000Z-Population_table_in_List_of_cities_and_towns_in_TN","replies":[]}}-->

Of course it is okay to mention me and the article, as a matter of fact, I am honored. I must admit, it was just too tempting to finish a list of articles to be added, and judging from the list of award nominations, this film certainly was notable (not to mention based on a fantastic play!) Can you point me to any places I could use as reliable sources to beef up the article? I would like it to have, well, a little more... referency and less stubby (to use fake words). I hate to write unreferenced articles, I'm more of the over reference type. Thanks! Cheers! For fixing capitalization (Photographer to photographer) on John McBride page. Looks better. Hum, Iam afraid not, the musuo, or moso (portuguese language) is very matriarchal and all you´ve just said is under "citation needed" on the article. What is really misleading is to silence a whole controversial, a highly controversial issue like this with a mere citation from Brtanica Enciclopedia, which has no links nor references to academic studies (modern, fresh archeological and etimological findings). WP is open to links and all citations there are. I offered the citation. The "mosos" are indeed as much as the "Sumatras" a matriarchal society and the german researcher even found the "ama" prefix to come from the africans, the greek amazons and the "mosos". this is not misleading --or is it??Jackiestud (talk) 19:53, 24 March 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-03-24T19:53:00.000Z","author":"Jackiestud","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-Jackiestud-2009-03-24T19:53:00.000Z-Jackiestud-2009-03-24T19:30:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->

Yes, I could now see it. Well, I am far from knowing how to fix it. My contribution concerns what I find an error and I offered citations for that. G'day Kaldari. Feel free to take them with a grain of salt, but I have a couple of pointers. Firstly, File:Speedwell 1 Nashville.jpg is promising, but its ruined by stopping down to F18, which leaves almost nothing sharp because of diffraction effects. F8-9 is probably the sharpest with your camera and I wouldn't go higher than F11. If you need more depth of field and it isn't windy use focus stacking. The other issue is one of lighting. Most of them have extremely soft light, which tends to leave things looking a little flat (imo). They would be improved by adding some direction to the light. You could use one of those cheap photographic reflectors, or for a bit more outlay some ebay radio triggers and a shoot through umbrella or softbox. You would need a manual flash of some description for the ebay trigger option. Use Filter -> Sharpen -> Smart Sharpen. The radius was 0.5 pixels, I can't recall the exact percentage (adjust it until it looks reasonably right). Under advanced the shadow fading was set to 100% so as not to boost the noise levels. If you are looking to do the curves as well then the darker pixels were left as is and the top half of the histogram was boosted a little bit. I'll take your word for it on the sharpening. I can only guess since I didn't see the flower in person. Rather than hand select the flower then sharpen, you might want to consider duplicating the image, sharpening it, then using a layer mask to select the areas that get the treatment. This method has the advantage of being easy to touch up if a mistake is made. I'm assuming that File:Polemonium reptans 2009.jpg involved a handheld flash and a E-TTL connecting cord. I'd consider that the way to go for insects and small flowers, because its easily portable, I'd add a softbox (eg a small lumiquest one or a home made one) so you have some ability to soften the light. For larger subjects I'd consider some ebay radio triggers and a 30-40in shoot through umbrella. I'd link to some ebay auctions but they are blacklisted with wiki's new spam filter unfortunately :(. 2 Flashes with the radio trigger method would be enough for just about any flower, A Vivitar 285HV or something is a fairly cheap way to go if you want another. I wasn't aware of the GFDL issue. The warning you made about this template was due to the fact that the persons age cannot be known with precision if the precise day of both birth and death is not known. Is that correct? I noticed your second announcement of an ongoing RfA at Wikiproject Tennessee, which I think verges on inappropriate canvassing. I see you have since posted 5 announcements at selected individual Talk pages. Perhaps you are unaware that the fact that the cited edit might be construed as canvassing was called to his attention at his talk page by Orlady, which I believe led to his comment here. I think a couple of isolated notes to specific individuals pales a little in comparison to your notices at Wikiproject Tennessee. If he had posted such notices at WP:NRHP, that would be comparable, and I would imagine that was a temptation. At any rate, I doubt that either of you intentionally violated the guideline/policy of WP:canvassing. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. The aesthetics of the image are undeniable. But no it probably wouldn't pass on technical grounds. You should have bumped your ISO up to about 800. File:Phylidonyris novaehollandiae Bruny Island.jpg and File:Silvereye.jpg were both ISO 1600 on a camera with poorer noise performance. The end result can be very good with a lot of selective NR. In marginal situations it is also worth firing as many shots as possible, increasing the probability of a sharp shot. The Honeyeater image above was still marginal on shutter speed. I had five soft images and two sharp ones before it was gone. I don't know how close you live to the desert botanical gardens, but it'd be worth taking a trip back with a tripod on a similar day. Many butterflies are territorial and you should be able to find one again. Ideally I'd go back before that particular plant stops flowering. I dug up some old photos of the 1998 Nashville tornado outbreak here, here, and here. I'm trying to find a way to add it to the article without necessarily breaking up the text too much. You've done some good work on the article and the one from 2003. Perhaps a gallery option is in order?

Thanks for uploading File:BNA aerial photo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Would you be interested in joining this project? We need more editors who share a burden for rescuing promising editors who have gotten into serious trouble because of behavioral issues. IF (a fundamental condition!) they are interested in reforming and adapting to our standards of conduct, and are also willing to abide by our policies and guidelines, rather than constantly subverting them, we can offer to help them return to Wikipedia as constructive editors. Right now many if not most users who have been banned are still active here, but they are here as socks or anonymous IPs who may or may not be constructive. We should offer them a proper way to return. If you think this is a good idea, please join us. -- Brangifer (talk) 04:27, 18 May 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-05-18T04:27:00.000Z","author":"BullRangifer","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-BullRangifer-2009-05-18T04:27:00.000Z-WikiProject_User_Rehab","replies":[],"displayName":"Brangifer"}}-->

I'm not sure if you saw all of the comments at Talk:Optics or my comment on the arbitration request, but some users think that it would be better to bring the Optics article over by transwiki rather than cut-and-paste. This gets into copyright issues, i.e. GFDL attribution for the various people who contributed at Wikisource. Hi, after logging into Wikipedia after a long while I noticed a comment/question about the license of the noctilucent cloud photo (Image:Noctilucent_clouds_over_saimaa.jpg)I had shot and later uploaded into Wikipedia many years ago. As I had later uploaded the same image into my Flickr account under Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 license and it seems to have been re-uploaded later into Wikimedia Commons with that license by another user, is there still something that I should do (other than check my account more often than once in every couple of years...), or is the matter already closed as done?

Congrats on the featured pic. Encouraged by your kind note I was doing some work on patriarchy and I realized that I didn't see the discussion of "universality of patriarchy" in the article. Is it there? Should it be more prominent? Or were you suggesting that where it says there are no known matriarchies that its already covered in that way? I thought in the AfD discussion you had said it was already covered in the more general article, but I may be missing something. The source I got this info from is a website called "Chart Stats - UK Singles & Albums Chart Archive". Its web address is www.chartstats.com.
Coupled with that, having been a keen follower of the UK charts for nearly 40 years and a Tangerine Dream fan for nearly that long, I'd always thought that Rubycon had got higher than the No.12 peak given in all editions of the Guinness Book of British Hit Albums, but had no way of proving it until the Chart Stats site came along. For the record, Rubycon's complete chart run (14 weeks), reads: 40 38 14 20 10 17 15 12 16 25 29 32 43 51.
Because the album dropped down and went back up again twice, it's perhaps easy to see where the confusion over its actual peak position originated.
Another apparent error in Guinness was the two week chart run given for the album Ricochet, whereas I always seemed to remember it having more than that. In fact it had four: 40 42 42 43. I've altered the Wikipedia article on that album too.

Hi Kaldari I noticed your post about GFDL 1.2-only licensing. The proliferation of nominations at en.wp Featured pictures is really disappointing and upsetting to me, is there anything I can do about it? Is there any chance to get the licence outlawed at Wikimedia Commons? Or is it ok for me to oppose nominations at Featured pictures with a reasoning like "restrictive licence and low resolution"? I just wanted to get this off my chest, the situation is quite ridiculous. I don't think text is allowed under a such a restrictive licence and I haven't seen text contributors holding back their best version of their work from Wikipedia and still getting featured.--Commander Keane (talk) 06:24, 27 June 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-06-27T06:24:00.000Z","author":"Commander Keane","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Commander_Keane-2009-06-27T06:24:00.000Z-Upset_about_GFDL_1.2_only_licensing","replies":["c-Commander_Keane-2009-06-30T03:08:00.000Z-Commander_Keane-2009-06-27T06:24:00.000Z"]}}-->

How long is this supposed to continue? If you have a justification for including both language version or none of them, I'm fine with it (because it's not a big deal). Thanks for your comments, particularly the ideas about relating the information to how roles might have developed. I will do the research you suggested. I agree the sociology part is too simplistic, but it already says culture exerts the majority of influence on behavior. I am curious about what the literature says in detail, so I won't mind working on this. But my purpose is to get the information, as I understand it, out there. This is apparently a subject that people hold very dear (not just on wiki, but throughout history). I was doing related research already and have shared much of it, anonymously and without hope of getting my costs back, because I consider this article worth the trouble. I just want to be clear about this. Hi, I'm here to talk about your recent activity at articles related to the topic of patriarchy. I appreciate your enthusiasm for improving these articles! Yet, I think it is important to ensure that you are doing everything you can to communicate your intentions to other editors. I recognize that you added a merge discussion banner template to Patriarchy, and you changed the lettering of an old merge discussion banner template from 2007 at Patriarchy (anthropology), but I think that this was insufficient to facilitate discussion. One of the main problems was that you re-used the old merge discussion header from 2007 at Patriarchy (anthropology), and failed to update the discussion templates with the current date. This made it appear as though the discussion was nearly two years old; thus, visitors to the article who saw the banner and noted the 2007 date would likely presume that the discussion was stale.
A better approach would include creating a new discussion header at Talk:Patriarchy, since that is the talk page that would remain after the merge, and to update both merge discussion templates with the correct date and new link. This would alert visitors that the discussion was current and enable them to participate. This would also have the important, added effect of causing the articles for merge to be listed in Category:Articles to be merged from August 2009. As some editors enjoy browsing the recent merge categories, this would help us gain additional input from the community (which we would not get if the discussion were buried in a category from 2007). It would also be appropriate to add a prominent, perhaps bolded mention of the new discussion, at the bottom of the old discussion header. It would also be good to add a link and a mention of the old discussion to the new discussion, so that people could see what other opinions people have previously expressed on the topic of merging. All of this would ensure that we're doing everything we can to encourage participation and build consensus in this process.
Thank you for reading my comment; I look forward to editing with you. Please feel free to respond here. "This made it appear as though the discussion was nearly two years old;"
The discussion was two years old. There are hundreds of merger discussions that are that old. It's not unusual for merger discussions on lesser known topics to take years to complete. That's perfectly fine and acceptable. We don't restart merger discussion just because they are two years old. Your point is taken, however, and I will try to get more people to participate in the discussion. The history section is now in the article. Also, a long time ago I proposed on the patriarchy talk page deletion of the Bacon reference. It's incorrect. No one commented. Hi, just noticed you added a comment (then deleted it) on my talk page about the above. The images I left with BAD in the filename were each pictures of someone holding a note in front of the camera. I admit this is a mediocre convention, especially since I didn't inform anyone of it :), but i underestimated how much effort even one page of this task was, and gave up and went to bed. I will go back and change the names to something more meaningful if you like.

Although the change you made to my comments at Talk:Patriarchy (anthropology)#New merger discussion were essentially in line with the sentiments I expressed, both in the comment and in the edit summary, it is generally considered poor form to refactor another user's comments. I saw the edit you made to the LGBT. I have only one objection to the reason for the unlateral edit: the symbol isn't "subtler", in fact, it's actually bolder. Personally, I like both the photo and the symbol, so there's no preference on my part.
However, if you check the edit history, there was debate on which photo to use. Thanks for the advice on changing names in the Polygonia genus. I am still learning how to work within Wikipedia. I have found that there is a great deal of confusion concerning naming, both common and taxonomic, so there may not be a 100% agreement among users. I will post a note to see if we should use the term Nymphalis or Polygonia for the members of this subgenus.
How long should one wait before reaching a consensus? What if a consensus isn't reached? What if there are no responses to the discussion? I have had very little experience with the discussion pages.

What a great comprehensive article about the Nashville sit ins. Thank you for the main editorship on this page, well cared for, tended, and grown. Nice work.
Most of the participants in the Nashville actions call the combined activities the Nashville Student Movement. Besides the sit in, it included the Open Theater Movement, the continuation of the Freedom Rides, a voter's registration campaign, and the start of much of the Mississippi moement. These are all covered somewhere on wiki, but not under one article. For example, such an article could have a few concise paragraphs on the sit in, and heavily link to the Nashville sit in page for a fuller view. Thank you for dots (how do you do them, I'm searching my keyboard and the only one which seems to fit actually does something else), and the addition of KMSmith a very good one. The Nashville Sit-ins would work well as a featured article. I don't know about Lawson's leaving, or the other four sit-ins. I only up to the point where Diane Nash talked to the Mayor, and he agreed that she was right, and they held meetings and worked out how to desegregate. (Was C.T Vivian involved in that discussion on the steps of City Hall? His wikipage seems to claim it, but I thought it was entirely Nash, the director of the sit-in, who made the breakthrough with Mayor West when he came out onto the steps of City Hall to talk to them)
Have you seen the CBS Reports (or CBS White Paper?) program about the Nashville sit-in? It was made in 1960 after the end of the sit-in, and was shown by James Bevel and the others as part of the training of the students the next school year who wanted to participate in the upcoming Nashville Movement activities. If you haven't seen it, that would be a great source of data for the article, an eye on the ground type of reporting. I've only seen it once and from what I recall it covers most of the public events and some of the behind the scenes planning.
Will Nashville have a commemoration in February or later of 2010, a conference, etc.? The Nashville sit-in actually started in 1959, as a movement activity, as the groundwork was being laid before the Christmas break and then a few of the participants worked over the Christmas break. They were surprised when Greensboro held a relatively unsuccessful sit-in, and started their planned and successful one. (Clara Luper and the NAACP Youth Council in Oklahoma successfully paved the way for both).
I'll read more of the wikipage soon, and give suggestions if I can, but you seem to have covered it well. I do have more data, but of the personal research variety, but will point you where I can. If a conference is held, maybe I can come to Nashville in some capacity. But all in all, the article should work as a wiki featured page, esp. on the dates or week of the 50th anniversary. More soon, thanks again, Randy Kryn (talk) 16:07, 22 October 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-10-22T16:07:00.000Z","author":"Randy Kryn","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Randy_Kryn-2009-10-22T16:07:00.000Z-Randy_Kryn-2009-10-17T01:07:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
I see what you mean about the four sit-ins. Individual dates. A standard movement progression, but in this action the Nashville Student Movement was actually the first in America to hold a successful nonviolent movement, although some actions of the Women's Voting Rights Movement probably qualify (Have you seen the great movie about Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, "Iron Jawed Angels"? Alice Paul was the James Bevel of her day). Thanks again, and this gets long when added to the rest of the message. Hi, left a note on C.T. discussion page. There is a town named Boonesboro in Howard County, Missouri, maybe that is it? A mystery. Another item, I've left a note on the User Group African Diaspora discussion page about creating a separate usergroup for those of us who do Civil Rights Movement edits. Thoughts? Moni3 came up with a wonderful sample usertag. Thanks again, Randy Kryn (talk) 16:25, 12 November 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-11-12T16:25:00.000Z","author":"Randy Kryn","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Randy_Kryn-2009-11-12T16:25:00.000Z-C.T._Vivian,_the_wandering_birthplace","replies":["c-Kaldari-2009-11-12T16:30:00.000Z-Randy_Kryn-2009-11-12T16:25:00.000Z"]}}-->
I definitely think there needs to be a Civil Rights WikiProject, but I don't think it should be under African Dispora, as it could potentially cover far more topics than that. Thanks for the research on C.T. Thanks. Maybe we can just set up the wikiproject, I don't know if anyone has answered me on the Disporo talk page, and will look. Two questions on the Nashville sit-ins. In the article, do you think the MLK template should be on the page, I don't see the connection and the template is so large that it takes up all the 'air in the room'. It wasn't an SCLC project or a MLK project, although Lawson was connected to them. Another, the museum going up in Greensboro, do you know how balanced they intend to be when including data about other sit-ins such as Nashville and Oklahoma City? Thanks again, Randy Kryn (talk) 10:49, 18 November 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-11-18T10:49:00.000Z","author":"Randy Kryn","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-Randy_Kryn-2009-11-18T10:49:00.000Z-Kaldari-2009-11-12T16:30:00.000Z","replies":["c-Kaldari-2009-11-18T15:51:00.000Z-Randy_Kryn-2009-11-18T10:49:00.000Z"]}}-->
As I understand it, the only connections with MLK are the involvement of the NCLC (which was affiliated with the SCLC), Lawson, and the fact that MLK came to Nashville to support the sit-ins. The template does seem to overwhelm the article and I certainly wouldn't object to removing it. I haven't heard much about the Greensboro museum. It's pretty exciting. Hopefully, they will focus on more than just the local events. BTW, there's also talk of creating a Civil Rights museum in Nashville (which I'm sure would cover the sit-ins). Do you know if any cities are doing anything for the 50th anniversary of the sit-ins? Thanks for the story about the photo tool! That's cool. I'm thinking about splitting it out into a special story separate from news & notes. Do you have any time to work on it this afternoon if I do that? We could add another para about upcoming contests, etc. -- phoebe / (talk to me) 20:05, 23 November 2009 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2009-11-23T20:05:00.000Z","author":"Phoebe","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Phoebe-2009-11-23T20:05:00.000Z-photo_story","replies":["c-Kaldari-2009-11-23T20:50:00.000Z-Phoebe-2009-11-23T20:05:00.000Z"]}}-->
It might be a little risky this late in the production cycle, but if you think there's enough material to create a separate story, by all means go ahead. I may be available sporadically this afternoon to help. I just added a screenshot to the existing article, BTW. Thanks for the note about image ownership of the original image attached to the "Hot chicken" article. I had sent permission notice to permissions-en@wikipedia.org as per your instructions six days ago, but got no response. Another user has since deleted the image. Is it normal to expect no response from that email account?
