- You are welcome. I spent a few decades trying to get magazine articles published (many created on a manual typewriter!) but, even though I had writing experience, for my first three years as a Wikipedia editor I limited myself to improving existing articles before attempting to create my first online encyclopedia article, and I had no idea if my effort would be accepted. (It was.) I regularly read through The Teahouse, and know many novices resubmit their declined drafts without making any of the changes reviewers have said are necessary. I was impressed that you had done a lot of work on your draft article, and you understood what a reliable reference was, so I wanted to give you some encouragement.
- P.S. As an amateur historian I've saved close to two decades of American Heritage issues, and I remember reading Bill McCloud's May - June 1988 article. Karenthewriter (talk) 23:46, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

This amateur historian editor registered in 2007 and began contributing more often in 2019. 80% of their over 4150 edits are in mainspace and Wikipedia Work pages. She has created 29 new articles beginning with Meg Duncan and most recently Little Folks (British magazine). While shaping interesting, well written articles she also takes time to assist at both the Teahouse and help desk.

- Buster 7, thank you for looking at some of my work and seeing value in it. I have a 20-year background in trying to "grow up to be a writer", submitting manuscripts to printed magazine and book publishers, and learning a great deal about rejection slips! (Thank you for your submission...it doesn't meet our needs at this time...) I understand Writers Guidelines, so have no problem following the Wikipedia rules, even the ones I don't agree with, because that's what a writer does.
- I grew up with printed encyclopedias and, in the pre-Internet world, they were the gold standard for finding accurate information It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of improving an encyclopedia, and it gives me great satisfaction to know that people around the world read what I researched, wrote, and published. No one has to worry about retaining this editor, for I love my work, but it is nice to appreciated. Karenthewriter (talk) 23:45, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
