thanks, KusmaYou made my AIVSo you're saying I should just warn an account that made an obvious vandalism post even though it's obvious that he'll do it again. I can see warning an IP, but an account is one person and one person only. His post was blatant vandalism and it's just a matter of time until he vandalizes again. F-402 15:14, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

New Page PatrolThanks for your note. I'm fairly new to NPP and still finding my way a little; it's a good job I'm a fast learner, but comments like yours do help. As to top/bottom, I select "10" items in the dropdown, simply for ease of management, and I assumed that these would be the bottom ten. As for the kibbutz, I note that there are about 250 in Israel so I suppose on reflection this makes them notable per se. Sometimes I have seen references to settlements with 100 residents and speedied them as WP:NN, and unless they hold some sort of record for "smallest settlement somewhere" or have Brigadoon-like qualities, and assert this, I'll tag them. But I see a tag as a suggestion, albeit a strong one. And, unlike some other NP watchers, I do take the time to check Google for CopyVio and WP:Notability. If I'm getting it wrong, please let me know. --Rodhullandemu (talk - contribs) 15:58, 3 October 2007 (UTC) Sōsuke AizenIt really seems to me that it's time for the spoiler tag on Sōsuke Aizen to go. The tag is right at the top of the page, which means that it doesn't discriminate between the "spoiled" content and any other kind of content. A tag saying that the whole page is a spoiler isn't much help. Someone who wanted to read about Sōsuke Aizen without having their experience spoiled—I'm not sure who that would be, but let's assume they exist—wouldn't find any joy in a tag that covers the whole page. What do you think??? Marc Shepherd 18:23, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks!I'd just noticed the edits that User:CharlesIsEmo had been making to Chav in an attempt to, I suppose, get back at me for reverting his earlier vandalism, and I saw that you'd blocked him for his repeated vandalism and, ostensibly, for targeting me with his edits. I just wanted to express my appreciation for your actions. Many thanks! :) Ashdog137 18:18, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of valid redirects?Hi there. I see you deleted Herman Francis Mark and Herman F. Mark under g5. I can't see the deleted revisions to be sure, but were these valid redirects at the time you deleted them? I've recreated them to point at Herman Mark, but I'd be interested to know what they were before deletion. Can you tell me what they were before deletion? Carcharoth 15:08, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Nothing serious, just the usual stuff, most of which was already fixed by others. The only thing left is that Category:Morava-related articles needs to be deleted. Thanks, shoeofdeath 06:22, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Krochman (talk · contribs) had turned it into a disambiguation page ala Sheynhertz-Unbayg (talk · contribs), which you reverted. The redirect to Bydgoszcz, the primary meaning of the term IMO, has since been turned into a stub article for de:Bromberg (Niederösterreich). Any objection to moving the stub to Bromberg, Lower Austria, or should the modern location take precedence? Olessi 22:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
HelloCan't we free up the database by deleting articles that have been merged? There isn't much in the edit history of Romanian mythology besides a list. The real text is in the edit history of Folklore of Romania. Lisa the Sociopath 07:26, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Thankyou!Thank you, it was a schoolboy error! {slaps self over head} PhilB 20:02, 3 November 2007 (UTC) Kalaripatt picI have tagged several images for the same reason in the past and all of them have been speedy deleted by other admins(as recently as a few hours ago) without harping on me wasting their time or asking me to go through a pointless IFD etc.,.. If you dont want to speedy it, dont. Another admin will come along and do the honours. Non-admin editors' time isnt free either and we are all volunteering our valuable time. So stop acting like its a waste of your time to examine a simple thing like this. If it really is, you should consider giving up your tools. And whats more, this is an image which I have tagged in the past for precisely the same reason(watermark) and it has been deleted more than once too. It keeps coming back and you tell me it is a waste of your time that I tag it? Sarvagnya 20:33, 6 November 2007 (UTC) How to do job of patrolling if such things happen?I tagged Andreas Spanias. Other editor removed it claming that Javd-DSP is enough for notability. Lateron on my talk page he said he know nothing about Java-DSP. Other editor also removed tags on article I deleted. Some bio are nonsense because those people are from my country and especially they clain notability of subject I know very well. Same user said that Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts meet WP:CORP. I replied to him following way. (quote begins) According WP:CORP, Even though the parent organization may be notable, individual chapters of national and international organizations may not be notable enough to warrant a separate article. Please explain why separate articles are necessary to describe all hotels owned by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. According WP:CORP, Notable means "worthy of being noted" or "attracting notice." It is not synonymous with "fame" or "importance." Please consider notable and demonstrable effects on culture, society, entertainment, athletics, economies, history, literature, science, or education. Please explain how Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has demonstrable effects on culture, society, entertainment, athletics, economies, history, literature, science, or education. (quote ends). Please note that I am tagging articles from conflict of interest category. If those are valid articles why not remove COI tag? And if they are deletable, why not delete them? What time is appropriate to take decision? I have already complained that companies like MyWikiBiz.com are hiring professional wikipedians to advertise in such claver way that it looks beautiful, perfect encyclopedia articles. But leave that alone, I am not allowed to place tag on article like Andreas Spanias. Will you please tell me what is going on? Thanks. abhih 17:10, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Two and a half men season 5 reviewsLook, now I have no idea why you ppl are deleting the review that I am putting up! 'CorenBot' says that it violates the copyrights of http://cronies.wordpress.com , when, in fact, the blog itself is violating copyright by posting copyrighted material from the CBS site (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/two_and_a_half_men). Now, I posted the very same thing, but I had put as reference links the link to CBS. So could you please clear this all up and put back the articles! I noted that the article on Jain Acharya Atmaram was deleted. 08:00, 28 September 2006 Kusma (Talk | contribs) deleted "Atmaram" (content was: '{{db-bio}}Atmaram - A person staying at Hyderabad') It appears that the original article was vandalized when you saw it. I would like to help with recreation of this article. Acharya Atmaram was a prominent and influential scholar. Acharya Atmaram (also known as Shri Vijayanandsuri) (1841-1900) was the first person to be raised to the rank of a Jain Acharya in the past 400 years in 1890. He was invited to visit the Congress of World Religions held in Chicago in 1893 A.D. Will you mind if I will assist in this effort? --Vikramsingh (talk) 00:09, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Ralbot 09:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC) RE: ElbtunnelI wanted to move the page due to a HUGE discrepancy between what the Germans call it and the article, and that it was bugging the crap out of me (As I have driven in the Tunnel NUMEROUS times). So I felt in order to "Cut the Red Tape" I would do it myself. I feel that it is IMPERATIVE that in order to save our credibility on the matter, and that my type of action was justified. So please move the What is "New Elbe Tunnel" to the place of "Elbe Tunnel". Sorry for the confusion and lack of proper move procedures. Vielen Dank, -MKLPTR MKLPTR (talk) 10:04, 7 December 2007 (UTC) P.S. RE: ELBE TUNNELI also think it does not EVER matter what the English word is. If the Germans call something a certain way. Thank it it a REQUIREMENT to mirror the wording of a given item. That said the "Elbe Tunnel" page MUST be looking like the way I made it look. Otherwise I might have to Revert it again and we will need to get another senor editor involved to see who is right. As you can tell I take my German stuff SERIOUSLY, For I know that when my freind does the radio traffic report for delta radio from Kiel Germany she says "Elbe Tunnel" not "NEU/NEW Elbe Tunnel" Signpost updated for December 10th, 2007.

Ralbot (talk) 13:28, 27 December 2007 (UTC) Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because it's the holiday season and there are plenty of off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, and have a good New Year, --Elonka 22:08, 31 December 2007 (UTC) |
