January 2026
Hello RandomPerson238. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Lynch44 22:06, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for telling me! I’ve done that. RandomPerson238 (talk) 22:13, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
Please just deny recognition and ignore, rather than comment. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 03:48, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry, I frequently forget about this. I'll try to remember to ignore them more. Thanks for the reminder. RandomPerson238 04:03, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
Baldi's Basics reverted edit
Hello! I'm new here, so obviously you know more than me. However, I was just wondering, why did you revert the edits I made on the Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning Page? (correcting characters names Bully --> It's a Bully, Principal --> Principal of the Thing) (You mentioned it as "unconstructive", so could you also just tell me what that means specifically? Thanks!) Cheesybear1337 (talk) 01:09, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
- As always, I make mistakes all the time. I think that you should be right in this case after I looked into this a little more. (The rest of the article did not have these names, neither did the sources, but other places seem to agree with you). Sorry for reverting your edit. (In general, "unconstructive" means the editor thinks it's not helpful, but is not qualify as vandalism). RandomPerson238 01:17, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. Should I add these changes, or will you? Cheesybear1337 (talk) 01:20, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry! I did not see your message. You can change them, or I can. Either of us is ok. I'll let you do it unless you want me to do it. RandomPerson238 01:21, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
- Anyways, feel free to redo your edit. RandomPerson238 01:20, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
- If possible, i'd rather you do it, as I wouldn't consider myself "professional" enough to do so, LOL. Appreciate it alot. Cheesybear1337 (talk) 01:24, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
- I've done it! Also, I saw [1]. Either this page or Wikipedia is copying from each other. (Nothing you have to do, just a note) RandomPerson238 01:31, 18 April 2026 (UTC)

Adminship
Alice Nicole Smith reverted your edits and added a few more things on her adminship page. I can't revert it because of conflicting edits. — Versions111 (talk • contribs) 11:34, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- Also, The temporary account who voted Alice is herself, considering the TA only has one edits one associated account. Versions111 (talk • contribs) 11:40, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- Nevermind, the adminship election ended. Versions111 (talk • contribs) 11:42, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. (I don't see why you can't revert it though, it's completely uncontroversial.) The user is blocked now. RandomPerson238 15:48, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi RandomPerson238. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits. For more information about when rollback is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Rollback § When to use rollback.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the permission will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, and feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate use of rollback. If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin) and Wikipedia:Rollback. Good luck and thanks! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:35, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
Hi! In the future, no need to edit war with the user on their own talk page. I would recommend either pinging the original admin for TPA revoke or heading to ANI. – LuniZunie(talk) 22:02, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. RandomPerson238 23:17, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
Adding external link to page
Hi there
Thank you for pointing out that external links should be added to the end of the page, rather than within the text.
I am a new user and an wondering if you could give me advice on how to do that. Tuesday's Child (talk) 04:22, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- WP:External Links might be helpful. RandomPerson238 05:06, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Tuesday's Child To summarize what's in the guideline, you can link to external websites in the External Links section if they are related to the topic of the page. Please let me know if you have any more questions. RandomPerson238 19:29, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- I have an external link that is relevant but can't see where the "External Links" section is. Tuesday's Child (talk) 22:50, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Have now found the correct place to add an external link. Tuesday's Child (talk) 23:01, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Eeeyorelore (21:53, 18 May 2026)
Hi, nice to meet you! Can I make minor edits to articles without asking anyone? --Eeeyorelore (talk) 21:53, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Eeeyorelore Welcome to Wikipedia, and yes, you can, and definitely should. Fixes such as spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes, and minor changes can be marked as minor and done without asking. Even when not minor, if an edit seems useful to you, you should do it without asking. Your first edit was great, and you should keep doing things like that. RandomPerson238 22:13, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello again! I have a question -- how do I know if a source is proper enough to cite? Eeeyorelore (talk) 04:45, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Also, what do I do if I find a source on Wikipedia that is not up to whatever snuff there is? Eeeyorelore (talk) 05:09, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sources that are secondary and are peer-reviewed are generally reliable. With that said, not all reliable sources meet those requirements. If a source is self-published, then it is probably not reliable. Not all sources have to be very reliable to be included, though. There are many cases where less reliable sources can be used without issue. RandomPerson238 05:26, 3 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Daniel Worrall (08:39, 20 May 2026)
Hi there how long do I have to wait to add an image to a page I have already posted the photo or file on wiki --Daniel Worrall (talk) 08:39, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Daniel Worrall Welcome! You can add it right now. Your image is File:Watchman Burial Site.jpg so putting
[[File:Watchman Burial Site.jpg]]on the page will add the picture. If you need more help you can tell me where to add it and I can add it for you. RandomPerson238 18:06, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Question from Ashkanalrz (16:36, 3 June 2026)
Hi, I am an employee of Parsvisa Canadian Immigration Consulting Inc., and I want to create a page for our business on Wikipedia. How can I do it?
Thank you --Ashkanalrz (talk) 16:36, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Doing this is strongly discouraged, but it's still possible. You'll have to find reliable, independent sources and declare your paid relation. It's recommended that you use the Article Wizard and read the Plain and simple conflict of interest guide to know the policies around this. RandomPerson238 21:09, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Also, please read the scam warning. Editors writing about things that are related to them are common targets. No one from Wikipedia will ever ask you to pay them to help edit. RandomPerson238 21:13, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from V00tesaxon (16:34, 5 June 2026)
Hello, I'm new to editing Wikipedia and got a few questions — firstly, at what level can I start adding foreign language versions to existing pages? Secondly, what is considered a fine source? When citing (specifically TV or related topics), can you add links from IMDb, or fan-made sites, or just Wiki fandom pages? If not, where to find information on basic things? Thank you very much in advance, I hope you respond. --V00tesaxon (talk) 16:34, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your recent edits. I hope you will stay around!
- First, if you mean translations, then you can start at any time. If you want to translate an article from English to another language, that translation will belong on the other Wikipedia's pages, not the English one. You'll have to ask on their Wikipedia for guideline or requirements. If you want to translate from another language to English, the easiest way is to use the WP:Content translation tool. However, as you are not extended confirmed, you'll be restricted to creating pages in your user space. Alternatively, you can create a draft without the tool and make translations. There is a help page Help:Translation for more information.
- For sources, the main rule is that it should be reliable and independent. Self-published sources like fan-made sites or Wiki fandom pages or IMDb are definitely not reliable. (See WP:USERGENERATED) Particularly, there is consensus not to use Fandom (WP:FANDOM) or IMDb (WP:IMDB) in articles. Instead, you should look for things like manuals if there are, interviews, news articles, and other more reliable sources.
- I hope this helped. If you have any questions, please let me know. RandomPerson238 18:55, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you so much RandomPerson238, I can't wait to get started with bigger edits. V00tesaxon (talk) 18:57, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Ott883 (08:47, 13 June 2026)
Hi, I'm unsure how the reflist template works. Does it fill out automatically when I make a reference or do I have to do it manually every time? If I have to fill it out manually every time, I prefer the visual editor, so how does that work? --Ott883 (talk) 08:47, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Ott883 The reflist automatically updates when a new
<ref>tag is added. In the visual editor, there is a reference button to add such a citation. There is no need to edit the template manually. RandomPerson238 18:05, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Otisius (23:21, 17 June 2026)
how do i make a new article --Otisius (talk) 23:21, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia! Making a new article is pretty difficult, and it is generally encouraged to have experience already before doing so. With that said, H:YFA has much more information. But in short, the subject must be notable. If it is, it is recommended that you write about a topic that is not connected to you. In your article, it must be supported by sources, but not do not copy from the sources. Also, using Large language models such as ChatGPT is prohibited. If you need more help, please ask here or at the Teahouse. RandomPerson238 02:13, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

Replacing old bio with new per band and management request.
I am working with a German/British band maned LAKE. They have a new deal with The Orchard in Europe and have a new release (LAKE 4)which has entered charts in Europe. Due to a very outdated bio on Wikipedia in the U.S., they have asked me to see if I can replace the previous bio with their new one which was written specifically for Wikipedia, formatted with History and Reunion sections as well as studio albums. Can I just replace the present article? Would it make more sense to create a new page for the new release? What credentials do I need to show and how do I do that? DonaSpangler (talk) 02:57, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @DonaSpangler, and welcome to Wikipedia. In this case, this is considered paid editing. Thus, the best way to do this is for you to disclose that you have a conflict of interest, and make an edit request on the talk page. (See WP:EDITCOI) Editing the page directly is strongly discouraged.
- Here are some things that you should remember when writing a new version:
- It should be neutral in perspective and not biased.
- It should be supported by reliable sources that are independent of the source.
- I hope this helps! If you need more help, please feel free to reply here. RandomPerson238 17:07, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from Bammies303 (19:33, 30 July 2026)
Does our contribution help --Bammies303 (talk) 19:33, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @Bammies303 it does! Wikipedia is one of the most visited websites on the internet, and it ranks on the first page on almost every search. Every page you edit will be viewed thousands of times, and even the smallest contributions help improve the articles. Your contribution was definitely helpful, and you should continue making these edits. RandomPerson238 22:15, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
Question from Manos Apostolidis on David Shields (10:20, 1 August 2026)
Hello, I deleted a paragraph from David Shields' (author) wikipedia page: under the header 'Career', there was the subheader 'Academic appointments', which I deleted because it didn't provided information that was up to date.
However, when I was about to write that in the summary edit (i.e. that I deleted the paragraph because the information was not accurate) I pressed 'Enter', and my edit was published.
How can I edit the 'edit summary' to my comment? --Manos Apostolidis (talk) 10:20, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
- No, @Manos Apostolidis you cannot edit past edit summaries. However, you can make a simple edit and note that the previous edit should have edit summary. Also, you must declare yourself as a paid editor, in which case it is strongly discouraged to edit the article yourself, but instead request or discuss edits on the talk page. I hope this helps, RandomPerson238 18:37, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
Question from Toetrails-wiki (21:27, 3 August 2026)
Judge John Ruffin,, Jr., deceased Richmond County Superior Court Judge. --Toetrails-wiki (talk) 21:27, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Toetrails-wiki, Welcome to Wikipedia! Is there something I can help you with? RandomPerson238 01:00, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- I'm going to compose the article as similar to any other bio type. I look forward to your edit suggestions. Toetrails-wiki (talk) 01:45, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, creating a new article is challenging and best done with some experience. With that said, Judge John Riffin Jr., who recently died, is notable enough due to the news coverage. The easiest way is to use the article wizard, which will guide you through the steps. Remember to cite your sources and be neutral in your tone. WP:YFA contains more information about creating your article. RandomPerson238 19:20, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

Question from Duuroow (09:36, 6 August 2026)
How can I publish my information on the Wikipedia? --Duuroow (talk) 09:36, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @Duuroow, if you mean write an article about yourself, then that is extremely discouraged. Wikipedia has a strict notability standard, which most people don't meet. As stated on the guidelines,
Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is an example of conflict-of-interest editing and is strongly discouraged. You should only edit a biography about yourself if you are removing unambiguous vandalism or clear-cut and serious violations of our biography of living persons policy. Edit requests are recommended as an alternative to direct editing for other changes if an article already exists.
- If you want to provide a bit of information on your user page, that is okay, but whatever you put must follow the user page guideline. Please let me know if you have any more questions. RandomPerson238 17:53, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
Question from Olivia Swanson (10:48, 6 August 2026)
What kinds of sources are ok for a citation? --Olivia Swanson (talk) 10:48, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @Olivia Swanson, Welcome to Wikipedia. It's great your asking about sources, as sources are one of the most important things on Wikipedia. Sources that are published, reliable, and independent of the subject are generally ok. For specific cases, WP:RS has a list of different types of source, and WP:RSP has a list of particular sources. RandomPerson238 18:09, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you :) Also another question, when is it appropriate to add images to an article? And if one needs to how is it done? Olivia Swanson (talk) 18:18, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- The page WP:Image use policy contains the specific policy about images, but in general, images should contribute to the article, and they should be freely licensed if possible and not AI-Generated. All images on Commons are freely licensed. RandomPerson238 03:28, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

Question from Olivia Swanson (15:20, 7 August 2026)
Hi, how can I find pages of things I'm interested in to improve or expand? Instead of just doing the suggested edits I mean. --Olivia Swanson (talk) 15:20, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- A great way to find these pages are WikiProjects, which will list pages dealing with a specific topic. For example, the WikiProject Mathematics will have pages about mathematics. The start and stub classes will generally be articles you can expand or improve the most, while C-class and B-class have less potential, but can still be expanded. RandomPerson238 21:27, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you, where can I find wikiprojects? Because when I try to search for them I can see the wikiproject page but not a list of articles in start or stub classed (or any classes at all). Olivia Swanson (talk) 17:54, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
- WikiProjects have a /Assessment page where there is a table. Alternatively, https://wp1.openzim.org/#/ is a good tool. RandomPerson238 18:36, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Question from Zeta-nicoFF (18:50, 8 August 2026)
Hi! I'm Zeta-nicoFF. I just uploaded a photo to Wikimedia Commons: "Medium-dark hazel with amber central and sectoral heterochromia.jpg" and added it to the "Hazel eyes" category.
Can you please check if the categorization and license are correct? I want to make sure this rare eye example stays on Commons and can be used as a reference for heterochromia. Thank you! --Zeta-nicoFF (talk) 18:50, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
- It should be all fine. I fixed the language code ("en" is for English, not "ab"), and added another category. The license is correct if you took the picture. If you found it on the internet, that isn't fine. RandomPerson238 18:58, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
