Regarding Book of the Earth

Hello. I have noticed your contributions to the article Book of the Earth, and I appreciate your efforts to improve it. I've always been frustrated with the anemic articles about ancient Egyptian religion, and it's good to see someone else working on one. Nevertheless, I have some concerns. For one thing, Template:Infobox pharaoh is only meant to be used on articles that are specifically about pharaohs. More seriously, some of the text you have added may be uncomfortably similar to the text in your sources. For the reasons why such similarities can be problematic, and guidelines on how closely to adhere to the wording of a source, please see WP:Close paraphrasing. I know it can be difficult trying to think of ways to say the same things in different terms, but it is important for the text of Wikipedia articles to be original.

Thank you, and happy editing. A. Parrot (talk) 20:07, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi A. Parrot, thank you for your feedback! I greatly appreciate it. I just started this project for an New York University class with Wikipedia Ambassadors. I definitely plan to follow the guidelines more closely and continue to reference all of my varying sources whenever possible. I am currently more in the research phase rather than the final editing stage, so the article should look more cleaned up soon. I will be making many more edits today, so thank you for your patience and I am always willing to help out! - Sam718
