Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to S-Video, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. -- DonIago (talk) 15:25, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Image source problem with File:Polly Pockets.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Polly Pockets.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:41, 27 March 2023 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 15:41, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: William J Woeger (November 2)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by ChrysGalley was:
This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Thanks to the multiple editors who have improved this text. Notability and verification are in place, but there are a few things that make this article looks somewhere between slightly promotional and a memorial tribute to someone who is clearly much missed among his friends. As a result it's not the crisp encyclopedic entry that would otherwise be expected here. The many and relatively long quotes are not usually present in such encyclopedias, so much so that there is still a copy violation shown on the Catholic Voice, though I accept it is shown as a direct quote, so more a technical issue than a copyright infringement.

As a practical suggestion, I would suggest rewording / paraphrasing some of these quotes, reducing the direct length quote? For example the quote that starts as "began to focus attention". The reference will be there for anyone who wants to see the full text. Also some of the middle sections, such as the design liturgical consultant section, could perhaps be summarised a bit. I am not sure the diversion to Vatican II is so relevant here.

I don't think it would be a lot of work, and by all mean contact me when done, given this has now been declined 6 times.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
