Occidental College and LA as Subject will be hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon dedicated to creating, updating, and improving articles about the Artists of the Arroyo Seco region in Los Angeles. This area has been home and inspiration to artists form LA’s boom years of the 1800s to present day.

This free event is open to the public, but please RSVP! No specialized knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia editing experience required. Please bring your laptop and power cord; we will provide research resources, WiFi, snacks, and a list of suggested topics. We will also have some extra laptops available for use by participants.

This is as an Archives Bazaar Pre-program event celebrating the 10th Annual Los Angeles Archives Bazaar and 20th Anniversary of LA as Subject.



What: Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Artists of the Arroyo

When: Saturday, September 26 from 11am–5pm

Where: Brown Lab, Occidental College Library, Mary Norton Clapp Library, Occidental College, 1600 Campus Road, LA 90043

Directions and Parking: Enter at Campus Rd. & Alumni Ave. and make a right into the parking lot. You can walk up to campus from there. Pass the fountain, walk up the steps to the Quad and make a right. You will see the Academic Commons (Library) building straight ahead. See directions on the Library page.

Suggested Focus: Artists of the Arroyo Seco region in Los Angeles

What to bring: Your laptop, power adapter, and any reference materials you'd like to work from or share.
