To avoid deletion, you must prove notability of your topic. For newspapers, this means at minimum your article should include:

• Establishment: Year and founder(s)

A good place to start is the Library of Congress. The name listed under 'Publisher' is often the founder of the newspaper, you can cross-reference the name with historical sources for more information. (Resources are listed by state)

• Coverage: the towns or cities the newspaper publishes to

This information is often listed on mondotimes.com or the newspaper's own website

• Circulation: the reported weekly or daily readers

The American Newspaper Representatives have lists by state.

Beef up your article with history and recognition. Articles that include significant history and recognition/awards are less likely to be deleted.
