-
Preferred speed and location (second from right)
-
Wikimedians taking photos

- Date: Sunday 12 March 2017
- Location: Cicerellos wharf, Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour
- Time:9.00 am for 9.30 am departure on boat trip from Cicerellos in the Fishing Boat Harbour, for about an hour around the moles and into the Fremantle Harbour - as far as the bridges, and back for a special opportunity to look at and photograph features of the harbour.
Note the WA Branch of WMAU was able to subsidize seats for members of WMAU on this trip, non members will be required to pay $50 for the option to do this trip. This is an unusual opportunity to see the entry and environs of the harbour from a low lying boat, and an opportunity to see the harbour from a different perspective. A unique experience! You will be able to contribute your photographs to wikimedia Commons as well, making this an important event!
Please note that Hats, Sunburn cream, camera (with batteries powered up and cards ready), are suggested items.
RSVP is required for this component - please contact JarrahTree by his wikipedia email. If you do not want to email JarrahTree - you will need to indicate on the next section if you are interested in part one, by Friday am thanks. If you have any questions about the boat trip, please contact JarrahTree. Thank you.
BONUS: woohoo we have a bonus for the morning HMAS Adelaide and few of her friends are in Port
Postscript: As discussed, photos taken during the trip and uploaded to commons should be placed in commons:Category:March 2017 in Fremantle (and also commons:Category:Photographs taken on 2017-03-12). Bahnfrend Also note commons:Category:Photographs_taken_from_Fremantle_Harbour or the more lengthy one commons:Category:Photographs taken from the water of Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour JarrahTree 09:41, 13 March 2017 (UTC) There's also Fremantle Ports website where you can look up the IMO numbers of the ships we photographed; and there's a category for each of them on Commons. e.g.:
- IMO9456379 Sifnos
Big Thankyou to those who attended - clearly an important and valuable exercise and a success - hopefully more Perth meetups like this will happen again soon - from discussion at part two a number of suggestions have arisen.. JarrahTree 08:18, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
