Barbados (enskt; Barbados) er eitt sjálvstøðugt oyggjaland í Karibiska Havinum í Norðuramerika. Barbados er partur av Smáu Antilluoyggjunum í Karibia.
Søga
Oyggin gjørdist enskt hjáland í 1625 og tvey ár seinni komu teir fyrstu niðursetumenninir.[1] Barbados fekk sjálvstýri 30. november 1966, men tey valdu at varðveita kongsveldið. Hin 30. november 2021 á midnátt gjørdist karibiska oyggjalandið eitt lýðveldi. Elizabeth drotning í Bretlandi er ikki longur ovasti í Barbados. Nýggja lýðveldið verður tó framhaldandi limur í Commonwealth-samgonguni.[2][3][4]
