Ch'ti

Ch'ti, Chti ou Chtimi, désigne généralement un habitant du Nord-Pas-de-Calais, ainsi que par extension, de l'ancienne région Nord-Pas-de-Calais, de Mouscron (Belgique) et de Tournai (Belgique) abusivement. Ce mot onomatopéique est apparu pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, en référence à l’accent picard des soldats nordistes pour dire « c'est toi/ch'est ti » « c'est moi/ch'est mi » (« ch'ti mi »). Dans le Ch'ti profond, on dit "Ch'to mi" pour "c'était moi".
