Franck Scurti, né en 1965 à Lyon, est un artiste français. Il vit et travaille à Paris depuis 1992.

Après avoir projeté une carrière de graphiste, Franck Scurti étudie aux Beaux-Arts de Saint-Etienne (1986-1989) et aux Beaux-Arts de Grenoble (1989-1991)[1].

La carrière artistique de Franck Scurti débute à la fin des années 1980, dans un contexte de renouveau artistique en France[2]. Rapidement, son travail interroge les normes culturelles et économiques à travers une lecture politique de l’imaginaire collectif, mêlant culture populaire, phénomènes sociaux et références philosophiques. Refusant toute idée de style unique, Franck Scurti explore une grande diversité de médiums – installation, vidéo, sculpture, dessin, bande dessinée – avec une attention particulière portée aux formes et aux matières ordinaires qu’il détourne et recontextualise[3].

Au fil du temps, cette suite de travaux forme peu à peu un récit où les associations de sens entre chaque œuvre se substituent à un style ou à un genre. Ce récit se réfère à l’histoire occidentale d’une représentation originellement établie par des lois religieuses ou magiques. Il est traversé par les données politiques, économiques et scientifiques qui ponctuent nos vies quotidiennes.
