Front populaire

Un Front populaire est une coalition de plusieurs partis, généralement de gauche.

Cette expression attribuée à Eugen Fried, qui daterait de 1935, caractérise des accords passés entre des partis de gauches (socialistes, communistes, mais aussi des syndicats et des mouvements intellectuels) afin de lutter contre la montée du nazisme ou du fascisme, à la suite des crises provoquées par la Grande Dépression de 1929.
