Les Fucaceae sont une famille d’algues brunes de l’ordre des Fucales.
Étymologie
Le nom vient du genre type Fucus dérivé du grec φυχοσ / fychos, « naître, croître », et du latin fucus, « plante marine donnant une teinture rouge ».
