Kill switch

Kill switch est une expression anglaise signifiant « bouton d'arrêt brutal ». On l'emploi généralement pour des boutons d'arrêt d'urgence. Il peut aussi être utilisé pour déconnecter un service par sécurité.
On en trouve sur certains appareil électronique pour déconnecter physiquement un périphérique et garantir ainsi la sécurité. Par exemple sur certain smartphone on a un kill switch pour déconnecter physiquement la caméra, le micro-phone ou autres périphérique ainsi, quand il est activé, aucun logiciel (malveillant ou non) ne pourra écouter les conversations ou filmer.
Par extension, il peut s'agir de tout système qui déconnecte un service par sécurité. Exemple avec le VPN.
