- Zone de gouvernement local au Nigeria,
- ou, généralement, aux États-Unis, au Royaume-Uni et en Nouvelle-Zélande, à toute division administrative dirigée par une assemblée législative ou un conseil : county council (États-Unis, Angleterre), council area (Écosse); en Angleterre les Regional Assemblies n'existent plus et ont été remplacées en 2009 par les Local Authority Leaders' Boards (qui ne sont pas des local government bodies à proprement parler, puisqu'ils ne sont pas élus).
