L'espèce Megacrania batesii (" Peppermint Stick Insect " en anglais) se trouve au Queensland en Australie et dans les îles du Pacifique environnantes (Nouvelle-Guinée, îles Salomon, île Ambon, Nouvelles-Hébrides, Philippines, etc.)
Elle se nourrit exclusivement de feuilles de Pandanus tectorius.
