Les Meridosternata forment un sous-ordre d'oursins irréguliers de l'ordre des Holasteroida, apparu au Crétacé supérieur, ayant connu une radiation évolutive jusqu'au Paléocène mais désormais représentée seulement par une poignée d'espèces cantonnées aux abysses.
