BHLHE41(Basic helix-loop-helix family, member e41)은 인간과 생쥐의 다양한 조직에서 bHLH(basic helix-loop-helix) 전사인자(transcription factor,TF) 억제 단백질을 암호화하는 유전자이다.[5][6][7][8] DEC2, hDEC2 및 SHARP1이라고도하며 이전에는 BHLHB3(basic helix-loop-helix domain containing, class B, 3)으로 알려져있었다.[9] BHLHE41은 수면량에 영향을 미치는 일주기 분자 메커니즘에서의 역할뿐만 아니라 면역 기능에서의 역할 및 체액 면역과 관련된 보조 T세포(Helper T cell)의 T보조2형 세포(T helper type 2 cell ) 계통의 성숙으로 알려져있다.[10][11]
