《Diamond Dogs》는 1974년 5월 24일, RCA 레코드에 의해 발매된 영국의 싱어송라이터 데이비드 보위의 여덟 번째 스튜디오 음반이다. 신학적으로는 조지 오웰의 소설 《1984년》과 보위 자신의 글램을 주제로 한 종말론 이후의 세계에 대한 비전의 결혼이었다. 보위는 1973년 음반 《Pin Ups》의 세션을 마친 후 오웰의 책을 연극적으로 제작하기를 원했고 자료를 쓰기 시작했으나, 작가의 재산은 이 권리를 부인했다.[12] 이 곡들은 《Diamond Dogs》의 후반부로 이어졌고, 그 대신에 제목이 가리킨 것처럼 《1984년》의 주제가 두드러졌다. 이 음반은 역사상 가장 위대한 음반 1000장 중 995위(3위, 2000년)에[13], NME 역사상 가장 위대한 음반 500장 중 447위에 올랐다.[14]

배경
