recordMyDesktop은 리눅스용으로 작성된 자유-오픈 소스 데스크톱 스크린캐스팅 소프트웨어 애플리케이션이다.[4]

이 프로그램은 두 부분으로 나뉜다. GPL-2.0-or-later 라이선스 하에 캡처 및 인코딩 작업을 수행하는 recordmydesktop이라는 명령줄 도구와, 프로그램 기능을 그래픽으로 보여주는 프런트엔드이다.

파이썬으로 작성된 두 가지 프런트엔드가 있다. GPL-2.0-or-later 라이선스인 gtk-recordmydesktop과 GPL-3.0-or-later 라이선스인 qt-recordymydesktop이다.

recordMyDesktop은 또한 ALSA, OSS 또는 JACK 오디오 서버를 통한 오디오 녹음 기능을 제공한다. recordMyDesktop은 비디오에는 테오라, 오디오에는 Vorbis를 사용하여 Ogg 형식으로만 출력한다.
