《Your Arsenal》은 영국의 가수 모리세이의 세 번째 스튜디오 음반으로, 1992년 7월 27일, 히즈 마스터 보이스 레이블을 통해 발매되었다.

이 음반은 비평가들로부터 호평을 받았으며, 영국 음반 차트에서 4위에 올랐다.

배경

모리세이는 《Your Arsenal》 발매에 앞서 새로운 밴드와 함께 리허설을 진행했으며, 이는 새 라인업으로는 첫 공식 음반이었다.

첫 곡 〈You're Gonna Need Someone on Your Side〉부터 이 음반은 모리세이의 음악적 방향이 인디 팝에서 보다 힘 있는 록 사운드로 전환되었음을 보여주며[12], 일부 로커빌리 요소도 포함하고 있다. 또한 전 데이비드 보위의 기타리스트 믹 론슨이 참여하면서 글램 록의 영향도 담겼다. 〈Certain People I Know〉, 〈Glamorous Glue〉, 〈I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday〉 같은 곡들은 각각 티렉스[2], 그리고 보위의 《Ziggy Stardust》 시기 곡들 (〈The Jean Genie〉, 〈Rock 'n' Roll Suicide〉 등)의 영향을 받은 것으로 평가된다.[13] 보위는 이후 1993년 음반 《Black Tie White Noise》에서 〈I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday〉를 직접 커버하기도 했다.

《Your Arsenal》은 1992년 7월 27일, 히즈 마스터 보이스 레이블을 통해 발매되었으며, 영국 음반 차트 4위에 올랐다.[14]

이 음반은 그래미 어워드 최우수 얼터너티브 음악 음반 부문 후보에 오르기도 했다.[15]

2014년에는 라이노 레코드가 리마스터판인 "Definitive Master"를 발매했다. 이 버전은 원래 수록곡 〈Tomorrow〉를 미국 싱글 믹스로 대체했으며, 1991년 캘리포니아주 마운틴뷰 쇼어라인 원형극장에서 열린 콘서트 실황 DVD가 보너스로 추가되었다.[12]
