や에 관한 여러 사항

  • い단의 문자에 후속하여 개요음을 구성한다. 이 때, 현대 가나 표기법에로는 일반적으로 ‘ゃ’처럼 작게 쓴다. 또, ‘テャ’, ‘デャ’는, /tya/, /dya를 나타낸다.
  • 히라가나 ‘や’는, 처럼 위가 떨어진 자체(字體)와 처럼 연속된 자체가 있다. 고딕체와 대개의 명조체는 전자, 초서체와 일부 명조체는 후자이다.
  • 스모의 성취표(星取表)에서 ‘や’는 휴장(休場)을 의미한다.
  • 일본의 인터넷 슬랭에서는 ‘7’이나 ‘8’을 의미한다.
