Claude Chappe

Claude Chappe (lahir 25 Desember 1763 di Brûlon (Sarthe)[1],Prancis — meninggal pagi hari pada 23 Januari 1805 di Paris, dikebumikan di Pemakaman Père-Lachaise (divisi 29), merupakan penemu semafor, metode komunikasi informasi jarak jauh lebih cepat daripada yang kita gunakan hingga saat itu. Dia adalah pengusaha telekomunikasi pertama dalam sejarah umat manusia. Claude Chappe adalah keponakan ilmuwan Jean Chappe d'Auteroche.
