Isagoras

Isagoras (Ἰσαγόρας), putra Tisandros, adalah aristokrat Athena pada akhir abad ke-6 SM.

Ketika tirani di Athena berakhir dan tiran Athena, Hippias, diusir, Isagoras terlibat dalam perebutan kekuasaan dengan Kleisthenes, sesama aristokrat.[1] Pada tahun 508 SM dia terpilih sebagai arkhon eponim, tetapi Kleisthenes menentangnya, denga ndukungan dari mayoritas penduduk. Isagoras lalu meminta dukungan kepada raja Sparta, Kleomenes I, kawan lamanya.

Isagoras, dengan bantuan Kleomenes, mengusir Kleisthenes dan keluarga Alkmaionid dari Athena. Akibatnya para pendukung Kleisthenes memberontak dan mengepung Isagoras beserta para sekutu Spartanya di Akropolis selama dua hari. Pada hari ketiga, terjadi suatu kesepakatan, yaitu bahwa Kleomenes dan Isagoras boleh pergi dengan selamat, sedangkan 300 pendukung Isagoras dihukum mati.
