Kotak TATA
Kotak TATA (bahasa Inggris: TATA box, Goldberg-Hogness box) adalah deret DNA yang ditemukan pada area promoter inti dari gen eukariota. Kotak TATA merupakan elemen cis yang mengarahkan RNA polimerase II menuju ke area transkripsi dengan akurat.[1]
Hanya sekitar 10% dari gen manusia memiliki kotak TATA,[2] dan lebih dari 80% protein pada mamalia dihasilkan dari transkripsi gen yang tidak memiliki kotak TATA.[3]
