Seni akademik

Seni akademik, akademisisme atau akademisme adalah gaya lukisan, patung, dan arsitektur pada pertengahan abad ke-19 yang dipengaruhi oleh akademi seni Eropa, khususnya yang dipengaruhi oleh Académie des Beaux-Arts di Prancis yang mengikuti gerakan Neoklasisisme dan Romantisisme. Akademisme dikenal akan tema sejarah dan orientalismenya. Beberapa contoh pelukis yang bergaya akademisme adalah William-Adolphe Bouguereau, Thomas Couture, dan Hans Makart. Sementara itu, para pematung yang beraliran akademisme memiliki ciri khas monumentalisme, seperti yang dapat dilihat dalam seni karya Auguste Bartholdi dan Emmanuel Fremiet.
