Tristachyideae adalah suku dari anak suku Panicoideae dalam keluarga rumput-rumputan (Poaceae), yang berasal dari wilayah tropis dan subtropis di Afrika, Asia, dan Amerika Selatan. Terdapat sekitar 70 spesies dalam delapan marga. Suku ini termasuk dalam kelompok di dalam anak suku Panicoideae, yang terkadang disebut sebagai "klade centothecoid", yang terdiri dari suku Thysanolaeneae, Cyperochloeae, Centotheceae, Chasmanthieae, Zeugiteae, Tristachyidae, dan Steyermarkochloeae; klade ini merupakan saudara dari kelompok-kelompok lainnya dalam Panicoideae.[2]

Marga-marga dalam suku ini sebelumnya ditempatkan dalam suku Arundinelleae atau Paniceae, anak suku Arundinoideae, atau anak suku yang kini sudah usang, Centothecoideae.[1] Spesies dalam suku ini menggunakan jalur fotosintesis C4.[3]
