Tuberaceae (/ˌtjuːbəˈreɪsii/) adalah sebuah famili fungi mikorizal dalam ordo Pezizales, yang berevolusi selama atau setelah radiasi adaptif besar pertama Angiosperma pada periode Jura (140–180 juta tahun lalu, Mya).[1] Famili ini mencakup genus Tuber, yang mencakup trafel "sejati". Tuberaceae pertama kali dicirikan oleh ahli botani Belgia Barthélemy Charles Joseph du Mortier pada 1822. Sebuah studi molekuler DNA ribosom oleh mikolog Kerry O'Donnell pada 1997 menemukan bahwa sebuah klad kecil yang sekarang didefinisikan ulang sebagai Helvellaceae berkerabat paling dekat dengan Tuberaceae. Mikolog Mary Cloyd Burnley Stifler mempelajari dan mendeskripsikan famili fungi ini, memberi spesimen kepada herbarium-herbarium di sekujur Amerika Serikat.[2]
