The 2023 East Staffordshire Borough Council election took place on 4 May 2023 to elect all 37 members of East Staffordshire Borough Council in Staffordshire, England. This was on the same day as other local elections across England. New ward boundaries took effect at this election, reducing the number of councillors from 39 to 37.[1]
The council was under Conservative majority control prior to the election. Following the results, the Conservatives lost control of the council to Labour for the first time in 20 years.[2] The Labour group leader, Mick Fitzpatrick, was appointed leader of the council at the subsequent annual council meeting on 26 May 2023.[3]
