Johnny's Signs is an American sign-making company based in Bedford, Indiana. The firm produces custom commercial signage and related graphics and has been active in southern Indiana for decades.[1][2]
History
According to the company, Johnny's Signs traces its origins to 1938.[3] By the 1950s the business operated under the name Johnny's Paint Shop, associated with John R. Fiddler.[4] Jay (Johnny J.) Fiddler was long associated with the firm and remained a public figurehead into the 2010s.[1] In 2023, the company states it was acquired by Derek Stutz.[3]
Recognition and activities
In 1996, the Times-Mail reported that Bob “Fid” Fiddler of Johnny's Signs won first place in DuPont's national Top Gun design contest.[5] The company and its work have been featured in the trade publication SignCraft.[2] In 2025, local media noted Johnny's Signs among firms helping restore Bedford's “Welcome to Bedford” sign.[6]
