Draft:Lawrence Yu

  • Comment: Thank you for doing some changes to your draft since last time, that is appreciated.
However there are still a long list of issues here, and I can only select two categories - I think I could have selected seven in all.
First off, make sure you clearly understand that to get an article you need to satisfy Wikipedia's definition of notable. It won't be your definition, and certainly isn't my definition, but we go by what Wikipedia has laid down. Your start point is WP:GNG and then WP:BASIC in particular.
After you have ready that, they you will appreciate that ideally you will need 3 independent, reliable sources such as reliable newspapers, giving a whole career profile of your life and career. There are other ways to meet BASIC but if you had a profile in the FT, Wall Street Journal and the Economist, then you are in business. Yes, you typically need to be Sir Richard Branson to get through that hurdle, it's not easy for businessmen, not least because interviews don't count either.
Then you need the sources. Here you do have SCMP, but yes, it's an interview. The other sources won't be regarded as reliable for notability purposes. So you are way short there.
Moreover every fact in your article needs to be cited inline, if there is any danger of someone querying it. Big chunks of the article have no sources.
You also not allowed to use LLM or AI or chatgpt style software to write this article, and there are indications that this has happened here, at least in terms of the language used, and you will be familiar with the Rule of Three.
The overall tone needs to be neutral and encyclopedic, not promotional, which it is now. There is nothing negative, nothing bad, worthy of highlighting. You don't need to mention your library fines or school detentions, but this is very one sided in terms of tone.
Finally you love bold type - Wikipedia doesn't. It's a trivial point, anyone could remove them, but maybe you can get there first. See MOS:B.
Nevertheless I am grateful for your efforts - may be consider helping with an article that you know about but where you can be independent in your contributions? ChrysGalley (talk) 17:01, 23 December 2025 (UTC)

Lawrence Yu (Chinese: 于智博) is a Chinese business executive who serves as head of Lenovo Group's Middle East and Africa regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.[1] He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.[1]

Education

Yu moved to the United States in 1998 and attended Mitchell High School in Oregon. He studied supply chain management at Michigan State University before completing an MBA at Harvard Business School.

Career

Yu worked at Dell and later at Citigroup, where he was posted to Brazil as part of the firm's graduate leadership programme.

He joined Lenovo in 2010 in a senior advisory role. After a period outside the company during which he co-founded Tuotuodi Technology, an enterprise software firm, he returned to Lenovo in 2019 to head its global retail solutions unit.[2]

In August 2025, Lenovo announced the establishment of a regional headquarters in Riyadh and appointed Yu to lead it.[3][1] The move was part of a broader expansion into the Middle East, including a strategic partnership with Alat, an entity affiliated with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
