Operating (stylised as Operating.app) is a software company that develops a cloud-based professional services automation (PSA) platform. The platform provides tools for resource planning, project staffing, time tracking, and invoicing for consulting firms and agencies.
History
Before founding Operating, Mikko Karjalainen and Lauri Eurén met while studying computer science at Aalto University and later joined the digital sales consultancy Columbia Road as early—a company co-founded by Matti Parviainen.
Operating was founded in 2023 by Lauri Eurén, Matti Parviainen, and Mikko Karjalainen, who worked together for 7 years in digital consulting and held senior roles in operations and technology at other firms.[1]
External coverage
Operating and its executives have appeared in industry media and podcasts. In Finland, CEO Lauri Eurén discussed trends in consulting and the impact of artificial intelligence on professional services work in an interview on the InderesPodi business podcast hosted by Inderes.[2]
