Ethan Joseph Wheatley (born 20 January 2006) is an English footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Manchester United. He is an England youth international.[4]

Club career

After coming through the Manchester United Academy he signed a professional contract with the club in January 2024.[5] He made his Premier League debut on 24 April against Sheffield United in a 4–2 victory,becoming the 250th academy graduate to make his debut for United's senior team.[6][7]

International career

He has been capped at England U17 level.[8] In May 2024, he was called-up to the England national under-18 football team.[9] He made a goalscoring debut during a 4–2 win over Northern Ireland at St. George's Park.[10]

On 7 September 2024, Wheatley made his England U19 debut during a 1–1 draw away to Croatia.[11]

Personal life

Wheatley is of Malaysian descent through a grandmother who emigrated from Selangor to England.[12]
