An evil diesel engine with an excavator claw arm, nicknamed "Pinchy", extending from his roof. Diesel 10 is "10 out of 10 for devious deeds and brutal strength" who notably hates steam engines and wants to destroy Lady. He serves as the main antagonist in both Thomas and the Magic Railroad and Day of the Diesels, making a minor appearance in Calling All Engines!
A small, Victorian-styled tank engine. In Thomas and the Magic Railroad, she serves as the guardian of the Magic Railroad, using her magic to keep the worlds of Shining Time and Sodor alive and she is currently owned and protected by Burnett Stone, her driver. She has magical powers and also appeared in Calling All Engines! in a dream sequence.
Two Canadian-accented diesel engines, who served as Diesel 10's bumbling sidekicks before their betrayal. They're collectively called "Splodge" by Diesel 10. They are the secondary antagonists of Thomas and the Magic Railroad.
A 20-centimetre tall conductor who originated from the Shining Time Station television series. He was portrayed by Ringo Starr on the first series of Shining Time Station, and by George Carlin for the rest of the show, including its follow up Mr. Conductor's Thomas Tales.
Burnett Stone's late wife. It was her death, along with Burnett's inability to make Lady steam, which made him depressed.
P.T. Boomer
A character who was originally going to be the main antagonist in Thomas and the Magic Railroad, but was cut to the film due to test audiences complaining that he would be too frightening for the film's target audience. His role was replaced by Diesel 10 and Boomer himself was demoted to a minor background role in one scene.
A silver saddle tank engine who works as a shunting engine on the North Western Railway. Due to his popularity with the other engines, Thomas became jealous when he first arrived on Sodor.
An old and wise Japanesetender engine who is famously known as the "Master of the Railway". As explained in the film, he was eventually brought to Sodor as its oldest engine. He soon broke down and was left in a siding for many years before Thomas rediscovered him.
A light blue narrow gauge engine from France. She helps Sir Robert Norramby's Estate Railway at Ulfstead Castle. For this, she has her own set of open-topped coaches.
An aquamarine streamlined tender engine from the Mainland, who is designed and built for speed. He has his own rake of coaches painted in the same livery as him.
A magenta streamlined tender engine from the Mainland, who is designed and built for speed. She has her own rake of coaches painted in the same livery as her.
The current Earl of Sodor. At the beginning of the film, he returns to Sodor after traveling the world and later announces his plan to restore Ulfstead Castle and build an estate and a tourist railway there. He previously appeared as the Duke of Sodor in the Railway Series books Very Old Engines and Duke the Lost Engine.
A large green tank engine that ends up on Sodor from Colombia by mistake. His real name is Gerald, but was nicknamed "Gator" because of his slopping water tank makes him like an alligator. During his time on Sodor, he becomes friends with Percy.
A rail-based grappling crane who works on Edward's Branch Line at Crock's Scrap Yard.

A railboat who helped his owner Sailor John and Thomas find Captain Calles' lost treasure, believing that they to turn it into the museum until he found out that Sailor John was intending to keep it for himself. After Sailor John was defeated and arrested for stealing the treasure, Skiff now gives Railboat Tours around Arlesburgh Harbour.
A large pink tank engine who worked on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway and then Indian Railways. She was one out of many engines to participate in the Great Railway Show and competed in the Shunting Challenge. She has becomes very close friends with Thomas after the events.
A vertical-boiler tank engine who works on the Brazilian Railway. He participated in the Shunting Challenge at the Great Railway Show at least twice and was a former champion.
