Mariners Centre
The Mariners Centre is a multi-purpose and double ice surface arena in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. It officially opened on November 28, 2001 and the building size is 65,000 square feet (6,000 m2). It is home to the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The facility hosted the 2005 Fred Page Cup and hosted the New York Islanders training camp in 2005 and 2006. The Mariners Centre hosted the World Junior A Challenge in November 2012 and 2013.[1] The Mariners Centre is undergoing an expansion with a projected cost of $40 million. This expansion will include a modern aquatics facility, new fitness center, indoor walking track, and several multi-purpose spaces. This will be built as a separate stand-alone structure, as opposed to an attachment to the existing building. The expansion will break ground in the summer of 2024, and completing by fall of 2026.
